struggling to understand/notice the differences - anyone got any opinions / preferences / insight?

1.5" height and 0.5L total capacity by the looks of it.

Both look a little big unless you are needing to carry a lot of kit?

I use this one, which is a fair bit smaller that carrys 2L water, tools, pump, spare tubes, snacks and still has space for more.

I was in the same position this week and eventually plumped for the Mule as I couldn't see the extra 0.5l making much difference to me for what I need to carry. There's a limit to how much weight you want on your back after all. There's plenty of room for water, tools, pump, tubes, jacket and sandwiches.

Thanks for the thoughts chaps. I want a pack with a bit of space, not just a hydration. The mule NV looks like it'll be a better bet. plus it's got a raincover and some neat pockets. I'm not too concerned about weight but i haven't tried it with a full bladder.
