'Lo all!
Got a problem. Bought some nice shiny caliper brakes off one of our 'ere members, but the securing spindles that go through the fork and rear stays are too short for the bike I want to put them on. They have a have a threaded cap fitting which presumably normally takes up any difference, but the front one is about 15mm too short and the rear about 10mm short. Are these a standard part I can replace for longer ones or will I be better just welding an extension onto them so I can use conventional nuts?
They are Cannondale dual pivot calipers, probably from a mid 00's bike and I'm trying to fit them to a plate type fork and the rear caliper mount has a tube.
I'd only need to extend one of them, because the front one is long enough to fit on the rear without modification.
