As stated above, I am about to cable a GT Groove Tube bike for the first time and am looking for tips. I have some photos that show various approaches so just curious what works best. Which side of the head tube do you run the rear brake? Also I assume that the rear derailleur goes on the far left, but is the center the rear brake or front derailleur? Bike is a 1994 Psyclone.

Re:

I always routed all three cable outers to the right of the head tube as you look down while sitting on the bike. This was with running the rear brake on the left hand as is usual in the UK.

My reasoning was that the the cable routing for the rear brake and front mech came from the left so the routing was smoother around the right of the headtube. It then seemed logical that the rear mech cable also stayed on the same side.

I guess if you run the rear brake on the right hand then it would make sense for all three cables to route around the opposite side (left) of the headtube.

I did however always run the rear brake cable through the upper/centre part of the groove. It really needs to be this way so it exits centrally at the rear of the groove for the U-brake crossover around the seattube.
