I guess that is one thing you have not taught me yet. How to know who is being addressed by a message on a public message board.

I await your instruction, oh wise one.

There is a forum feature that makes it really easy:

Hope that helps.

Stop fighting you silly boys and help me with my telly purchasing.

Best 32"? Can you get one with a really, really almost invisible bezel?

Ooh! Those OLED ones look beautiful! Curved screen!!! :o Too big doh.

I'd just go with whatever the cheapest one does what I need getting done. Need loads of sockets for games consoles/skyboxes/whatever? Want to use it as a computer monitor? Stuff like that.

Edit: Oh, iPlayer is a thing on the actual telly itself now? I always just used it on the laptop!

I got a lg tv and surround sound system from currys in manchester Arndale earlier this year, researched specs n all the bla bla on line walked in grunted that n that paid on card walked out? No dramas n over in mins? Delivered next day happy as.

  Wheres my popcorn.

In HF defence .
It IS a public forum and chock to the gunwales with interested parties all wanting to get their tuppence in as the wife is sick of it

Now play nice

Yes it's on these 'smart' tellies now. The type the Op duzzent want. At least, I think he duzzent want one, I'm not sure.

OP; do you want a smart tv?

Image quality is a priority. The Panasonic Viera TX-L32E6B looks good on paper, and has some very good reviews. Won't buy until I've actually seen a selection 'in the flesh' doh, as we all have personal preferences.

Can't believe that a 32" telly is considered a 'bedroom' telly rather than a living room telly! Like, how ******* big do you want a telly to be ffs? Can't understaynd people who buy summat that totally dominates their front room; 42" and up is for very big living rooms/small halls. I just don't get people who sit 8ft from the telly, and have to physically move to see different bits of the screen! Madness.

Worth keeping in mind that if you see a telly in the shop it's been set to demo mode, where the colour levels and contrast are through the roof, and loads of fancy post processing effects are switched on. I suppose it makes it very bright and eye catching, but doesn't tell you anything about what it's like in your living room.

I remember when we bought one of the first flatscreens back in... God, 2002? I think?

Looked good in the shop and only at the shop. Sound didn't even work unless you fed it through scart for some reason, and the video recorder put snow on the screen.

We have a 37 older Panasonic TV with freeview/freesat. It the right size for our room and would go no bigger, our normal sitting distance approx 3m and it is pleasant to watch and great with our Wii games a bit closer.

It was the 42" version of the 32" you are look at that I bought for the inlaws, they are not IPS screen so not quite as good as their more expensive counterpart but has next to no bezel and looks nice in the silver. It looks odd at first but you soon don't notice it just a screen and no border, a bit of backlight bleeding to my eyes compared to my CFL TX37G10 but these are technically budget TV. And I've not altered any setting on it. They are more than pleased, they sit further than 3m away are old and its nice to watch, easy to use in TV mode. Not played too much with 'apps' as the TVs on the edge of their WiFi range, so slow. Nor played with using it with a pad/phone to control it.

Very tempted to buy the 32 myself.

John Lewis has 5year warrenty on these by default and with their price match, you'll be covered through the sale period, just keep an eye on their site for reductions or others as well.

I think JL offer 2 year warranty as standard too.

Shy, don't tell everyone but EU law says they have to. Also soga gives up to seven years of protection if you are prepared to use it.

Carl.
