Building a bike - views on spec...

Im building up a 97 orange P7 frame (Ive had it since new), Ive got most of the parts ready, what do folks think of the spec...

Frame - 97 Orange P7
Fork - Pace RC35 (94/95 ish?)
Chris King 1" Gold headset
Sycros stem
Azonic Bars
Raceface xy seatpost
Vetta AT Transverse Saddle
Hope Gold Seat QR
1997 deore xt short cage rear mech, front mech, sprockets, chainset, chain & bb.
Gripshift Xrays
Ritchey SPDs (1996/1997)
XTR v brakes & Xtr levers
Onza Porc tyres
Mavic 221 rims on stxRC hubs.

Ideally long term Ill get a better set of wheels but I have these already, handbuilt & lo miles. And as for the V brakes - my frame has no hanger, so cant run cantis...

Also putting together a 1995 Diamondback sorrento (my first real MTB) with Deore LX/STX/Onza HOs from similar era...

Sounds nice. But then I am a tad biased as my retro ride is a '95 P7 XT with Judy SL's!!

Best bet is posting some pics to keep the locals happy!!!!

cool, ive just started building, new orange coloured decals, mechs, bb and cranks on, waiting on my headset & shifters before it starts in earnest!

Maybe get some later Pace forks to match the age of the frame? Usually someone would go for later forks as an upgrade, rather than earlier ones!

That was the plan but I waited ages for a set of 1"ers... So I'll get these built up and then look for a suitable swap, longterm.

Ive now fitted a set of mint bomber z2 bam forks, and virtually finished the build, it looks awesome!!!
