Build rules ; brakes Question

Wow! Nice Cannondale. That braking surface looks like it's never had a pad touch it, guess it's hard riding without pedals. Kidding!

brakes

The only rule to remember is THERE ARE NO RULES. V brakes work much better than cantilevers and that is what I have on my 1991 FUNK. The front fork on my FUNK has a MAG 21 ROCKSHOX that had a cantilever mount on it which I cut off cleanly with my trusty hacksaw, then filed it smooth and mounted a set ov V brakes.

Mixed bag of thoughts then :?

I was thinking for the new kestrel, cutting off the canti hanger on a frame like that would kill me, In truth I'm 75% going with XT canti's cos it seems right but V's had crossed my mind as I dont have a bike with descent V's fitted and M739 V's come along much more often than a set of canti's.

Like I say, just crossed my mind and I wondered where most people stood on it.

cheers

If the frame was designed to run specifically with cantis, then it should be run with cantis.

I'm pretty strict on that :)
