broken ribs

Right last year I fell off my marin when my front wheel washed out......

titec bars in the ribs and bloody weeks of agony .........I though probo fractured rib as the pain is something I remember from a previous injury.....

trouble is it still gives me pain now and it was near 5 months ago now.....

stretching and leaning on it are the worst.....

anyone else got this.....or know how long it will take to heal :? :twisted:

It should take about 6 weeks if their given peace to heal.

15 years ago, my missus rode 3000 miles around Spain with a broken arm because she didn't want to ruin my holiday...
It never healed properly, so I've spent all day today planting shrubs for her, and when I did finally get time to ride it started to P!ss with rain.
Go and get it sorted, pronto.

What is 'don't have a doctor'? Are you on Mars?

I cracked three ribs a few years back belly diving down the stairs on a bus.

Two months later it was forgotten until I was drunk and jumped up on some hoops on the park obstacle course.

I dropped like a stone.

Bones need immobilisation and rest to get the healing started, then careful weight bearing or exercise depending on what bones they are.

I landed on my ribs late last year. Condition like you. took 3/4 months to be 100% better.

Just had to wait for it to clear up.

I didn't go to the witch doctors. As all they will give are pain killers.

go to casualty you big girls blouse..any signs of bruising...just a thought but you may have a bit of rib shard sticking you....get the xray done mate,,,cos if you snuff it im getting all your stuff and spraying it purple..

No doctor hf.......my doctor retired about 7 years ago and I had not been to the doctors since I was fourteen......that is 17 years ago....when I went after falling off my bike they told me they had no records for me and I needed to re register.......the forms were horrendous and I had some business to do so I walked out.... :roll: the place was full of jeremy kyle contestants with sti's........and not shimano ones

Hi mm.....I crashed around afan three years ago riding with the mrs......out of stubborn pride I did the loop again to try and clear it, crashed at the same spot and fractured three ribs falling onto the bar.....it took 9 months to get right.......never went to doctors though.....like a real man!.....
