brake upgrade

ok next question re my '92 clockwork project.

If I am to upgrade the current canti brakes with some Avid
V Brakes, which should I go for. Is there a big difference
between say single digit 5's over 7's. I see Avid also do a canti brake
(shorty or something) Are they worth going with.

There really isn't much difference between Avid 5's and 7's and they both work fine. I never used the shorty's though.

I've heard that Shorty's are weak even compared to other canti's.
But maybe the problem are brakepads.

Canti's Got a lovely set of XTR

Got a Lovely Jubbley set of XTR M900 Canti's spare if your interested? They work really as well as V's when you get them set up.
