After many issues with routing the front brake cable I switched them to the "normal" position - left on the left, right on the right. I think that's the way v-brakes were design to work on their best.

I'd hate to have to use them the other way around - left-right and right-left! :D

that would really confuse me too.

no, wait, it already has

i'm a front-left guy (whats all this right-left, left-right you guys are on about ??).

zFrom riding bmx with only the rear brake on the right, in fact all bikes i ever owned came left front, and didn't realise that they were supposed to be (here in oz apparently) the other way around...

Guess You get used to either.
It reminds me of tricycle I had as small boy.
It was two front wheels, one rear wheel design with steering wheel.
I once managed (don't know how) to switch steering.
And so I got used to turn right and tricycle went left and vice versa.
I learned driving with that mismatched steering, but then I went riding toy cars and was not able drive correctly.
In corners of each lap I turned left, so car turn right in the right turn, but (for some reason) I just ended in barrier.
I was bumping into barrier whole afternoon, unable to complete one single lap right! I was SOOO ashamed!

Picture instead of thousand words... :)

Somehow I lost excitement of those days...

Always been right hand for front with me apart from one memorable occasion when I thought strong hand operating rear brake, thats actually a good idea since I use the rear most on steep descents on my rigid bikes.
Wound up in hospital with a broken collarbone on my first ride with this set up. To be fare the crash had nothing to do with the brakes but I suspect the gods of fate were watching me and decided to have a laugh
Not tempted fate since.

 got to be right for front

left front would be like pedaling backwards to go forwards

or turning the bars left to go right
