Brake cables

Hi all, before I pull the old one out, how does one replace a brake cable that goes through the inside of the top tube? :?:

i'd imagine they run through an 'internal' cable tube, otherwise changing them would be impossible

oh no , that would be too easy .

my reflex has internal cable routing and it took a lot of pateince and ingenuity to put them through .

did you just agree and disagree with me in the same sentence? :?
sorry i meant that the cables go through the frame , but there is nothing to guide them inside .

If the brake cable is still in place at the moment just stick a piece of string to the end of it before pulling it out. That way you can use the string to pull the new cable through.

no worries

it just sounded funny

I was rebuilding one of these inframe routing, the guy i was working with said, just pull it through,i'll show you a trick to easily reroute the cable

He hasnt shown me it yet but assures be its 'quite easy'
The next one we do he'll show me then
Anybody know what this easy trick is,seems to me once its out youre going to have a devil of a job getting a new cable through :?

Would taping the new cable to the old cable work, then pull it through??

I agree, surely copius insulation tape or the like and fixing it to the old cable then pulling them both through?
