Bottom bracket removal tools...advice and help.

Oh and its not the cranks/rings after removing them today and spinning the axle it sounds noisy and feels..hmmm kinda clunky/gritty..

Oh and Mark I'll look out for your PM...

If you want to keep the original BB, why not just get the LBS to remove it and store it in a cupboard? If you find you just feel like a fake using a cartridge, repack and refit the original. And sell the used cartridge to me. Cheaply. :P

here's an incentive for you...

if you get it out, nicely. i have a un54 122mm (probably what you need) used but smooth/tight. i will karma it to you, postage n all

Aww Marc you ol diamond! Ok so thats decided then...I'm going to get rid of the old and in with the new...er! Is there a way of telling the size or is it a case of measuring the width of the frame bb...

If you decide you're really desperate to have the original M730 BB again in the future Wook, I have one. I've not been able to bring myself to part with it yet, but if someone really needed it I might be able to convince myself.

Fair play Will...basically I'll have it apart tomorrow and see what the condition inside is like...then I'll make some sort of decision!

Cheers all

Wook

When it comes to some jobs I value the cost of the tools vs how often they will used vs the amount of stress

sometimes it's just as easy to go to the local bike shop with your new bb and say hey chaps can you take the old one out and pop this in. rarely costs very much at all

if however you think you will have a lot of projects over your life time then getting the tool and the experience will be worth it
