The MTB ones are 112 or 116 mm
the road ones are 109 or 118
so the road ones are either too long or too short depending on what you would otherwise use. Not much in it though
109 should be fine on most skinny steel stuff, might need the 118 for really fat frame and/or full suspension
Also, the road ones are only available in 68mm, so GT and other 73mm users are out.
