bottom bracket conversion 68-73

Did someone recently post a link to a site explaining how to use a 68mm BB as a 73mm one?

If it's a Shimano you can just remove the two non-drive side spacers to fit a 73mm shell...unless I've misunderstood what it is you are asking.

I seem to remember seeing a thread about this, so you're not mad. Or we both are...distinct possibility!

Or have a competent bike shop face the BB shell down from 73mm to 68mm.

Grind off the outer RH cup flange and this will convert your UN71/2/3 into an adjustable BB that will work in this way.

For a 73 BB on a 68 shell just add a 2.5mm spacer behind the RH cup and screw in the LH cup fully home.

Thats the one Max it was your posting I remember too. Just like the thing, the BB we were talking about is now the one I need after I swapped it.
