I've just spotted one of my old cars on the bay
Browsing as you do , checking out current old ford prices ( ouch ) and thought " oh a 100e , had one , wouldn't say no to another if I can get a mate to throw in a xflow , looks straight , not too bad money , hang on that plates familiar , I wonder which one of my old mates it is " . Looked at a few old photos and it was mine
Got it from a guy in Essex a few years ago , only broke down twice on the way home , it ran out of fuel . Mental note , ignore the fuel gauge and again when the dynamo ( none of that modern electrickery there ) nearly fell off . Other than that though it was brilliant . Pre dated the seatbelt law , so didn't have any . The seats don't have any adjustment and you can see in one of the photos they only bolt down at the front , with a hinge so you can get into the rear . The indicators are that tab on the centre of the wheel , so no stalks needed . Washer jets run on a pump , you press the white knob on the dash and you physically pushed water out the jets .
Why sell it ? well , I got pretty sick of the fuel vaporisation , they put the fuel line next to the exhaust manifold so 20ft away from pulling away from traffic lights it would just cut out as the petrol had , vanished
Once in a while you can live with , but every day :x
Ok that can be worked around no big deal , but it had only 4 gears , and one of those was strictly for backwards
So your left with 3 . 1st is low , very low . being only a 1275 sidevalve it needed a low gear for any hills , only useful for standstills ( and a cheeky wheelspin ) which left you with 2 gears . 2nd gear was the one , 3rd was for cruising , at 50mph which it rarely made it up to

Here it was next to my tin corner .
Oh and that black ring on the impeccable red rear seat , tin of hammerite
This one will always be my favourite , George built it in about a month
