Put the disk in a working machine and take ownership of the drive.

Right click properties, (enable simple file sharing) security, advanced and take ownership.

Back up docs and then start working on repairing the disk in the old machine.

Try an upgrade to Win 7 and it'll preserve what it can.

I had this yesterday when I used 2 DIMMs of double sided and 2 DIMMS of single sided memory in the same board, it behaved very oddly before BSODing, also didn't like having the soundcard removed and the internal sound reactiving all in one hit.

9 times out of ten though problems like this that start to occur for no apparent reason are related to a PSU the is on it's way out. Maybe worth £20 for a cheap PSU to see if it works which you can always keep as a spare if it doesn't.

Carl.

Isn't it a problem with your pagefile as the bluescreen suggests? Probably caused by a bad sector on the HDD, OS is goosed. I've has similar failures in the past, the only thing I can suggest is to recover the files as has been suggested and then go for a clean install after a thorough hdd bad sector scan, but if you are starting to get bad sectors it may be prudent to get a new HDD.
