Blue knob syndrome

I rarely get embarrased so talking about this isn't a problem to do but I thought I'd ask if others have experienced this?

Lately I've been doing a combination of road and dirt road/tracks on my do everything bike a trek marlin 29er and depending on the winds it varies between 15-24 miles.

I noticed the problem before but put it down to oddness but the last 24 miler I got home got ready to shower and noticed in particular my bell end was dark blueish.

Now I am assuming that the amount of time in the saddle is impacting on blood flow and this is showing it'self in this way. Has this ever happened to anyone one else and if so how did you resolve it?

I have had all kinds of saddle sores and numbness, tingling, etc. whilst touring and cross country riding. Never a blue meanie. Get thee to your doctor, and take a good look at your riding posture, setup.

No need to be embarassed. It's a problem like any other, and needs to be resolved.

If it's the first time this has happened, it could be the result of a burst vein or minor internal bleeding. Like a bruise really.
Give it ample time to heal before you ride again.

If it's not the first time or if it happens again, it might be due to a restriction in that area's blood supply. In that case I'd suggest adjusting your saddle or getting a saddle that's either softer or shaped differently. Oh, and not riding for a few days, just in case.

im guessing its a blood flow issue but cant be too careful with the old fella get pro advice not google advice lol

I would be embaresed if I was you, riding a 29er.

This is my first 29er and I have to say I'm pleasantly suprised

Have you tried manual stimulation to restore blood flow?

Swmbo has offered to have a hand in researching the matter but that always leads to an exspensive shopping trip so I'm doing a few more rides this week and if the problem persists I will visit the docs to see if he can help me out as it's free on the nhs.

Just have it removed. If you're as old as me, you don't need it anymore anyway.

Alternatively, just get a saddle with the groove or slot in the top. Worked for me and now the old fella is comfy and alert however long I ride!

This thread means nothing without pictures (of everything mentioned above including your doctor).
