Has anyone ever seen or used these rims before? They came to me built up but I needed the hubs for something else. They have a very unusual groove in the middle of the braking surface?!

Are they 26" ?

They look like an MTB version of Ambrosio Excellence road rims.

The groove is a wear indicator

Hi yes 26"....so when the groove is no more your rims are spent? The groove is probably 2 to 3mm deep

Yes that's the idea, quite common on new rims these days.

I think you have a good score there not seen those before, but I had a pair of the road rims and they are cool 8) 8)

Cheers for the info...if they were more of a turq blue I would be hanging on to them but I think I'll be parting company

I've got red frogs on my Nishiki Alien. They are a good looking rim
