Well its gone 12.30. I woke up yesterday and now its tomorrow.

Tonight all i had to do was spray some shultz on the sills of my golf and take it to the body man. Then change one drive shaft/diff seal on the wife's saxo.

Arrive at my mate's garage around 6. Lots of messing around means its 8 before car is ready and dropped off. Start saxo at half 8. Have a few problems along the way but car is back on the deck with a box full of stolen gear box oil by half 10. Tidy up and lock workshop. 11pm.

Jump in saxo. Won't start. Great. Jump pack. Still nothing. Put in gear and roll forwards and backwards. Nothing. Swear. Nothing. Hit steering wheel. Nothing. Push it back in workshop. Have argument with mrs about never seeing me and eating alone again. Pull mechanic friend away from cool beer and god knows what on the internet.

Scott does lots of probing and a bit of swearing. Turns out the new starter motor fitted 12 hours earlier is in fact duff.

Still the silver lining is he leant me his 205 gti because he'd had a beer and couldn't drive me home.

Doh!

205 GTi's are cool little cars. I had a 205 CTi BITD, brought it for summer cruzing. Ohhh yeaaaa 8)

what engine do they have? thinking of one for rachel. she's devistated to have lost her golf cab but need something that uses less fuel.

Can't be doing with working on the cars any more. . just the odd dabble with the spanners if I must..

Leave all that to the Wife now.

The CTi's only got the 1.6 didn't they??
