It won't be a Yeti, and if you put Yeti stickers on it you will be mocked!
If you've got the skills to build your own bike that'll be far more interesting.

just do your own thing without passing it off as somethin else ... imo that would be cool. Or if your a patient person an orig yeti is worth waitin for.

Have you any pics of your current build ??
I would NEVER put Yeti stickers on it, lol... xD
I probably would put ULTIMATE (in big) and 'tribute' small in the lower right...

If you have the skills and motiation to build it, have enough pride to put you own name on it
...and my name - of course...

do you mean using the yeti as a blueprint for your own?
Yeah, that's the thing, of course...
My thought were to build a tribute frame based on the
style of the Yeti Ultimate (single piece bent rear a.s.o.)...
Basically I want a frame that looks like the Yeti but runs as singlespeed w/ disc brakes - and I couldn't do that with an original frame w/o destroying it, right...

Likewise, building something that matches your requirement is cool, but painting it Yeti colours would be a crime.
Hmm, I was thinking turquise, but you might be right, it might be going to far.

You thinking 1 piece stays? 4130 not a bit heavy?
I calculated it all, full frame just over 3.000g + 1.2kg for the fork... It's gonna be a tank -like the Y.U. was...

but making it your own "brand" in my opinion would be cooler
Naeh, I don't agree... I'm not a good enough metalworker to venture into that...
Once again, this is a tribute bike, not a ripoff... =)

whatever will make YOU most happy
Yeah, there I do agree...
After checking other frames I'm also thinking about making a RM Blizzard Tribute, I had one of those also... Same general idea, all steel frame and fork but with disc mounts and SS-support...
For those ho think it's blasphemy, check the American Chopper episode about Jay Leno's Brough Superoir tribute bike -
