Hello and welcome to Retrobike. A fine looking bike, but it may only just sneak in the 1997 cut-off judging by the (LX) components that I can see.

Oh, and that Seat Post needs sorting out - ouch!

Pip

Better? Pics now the back to front seatpost is sorted and greased...needs wheels as hubs are very poor?Does my old Raleigh sneak in?

Its worth about a hundred quid, the value is in the groupset. If you split it by parts you should get more. Having said that LX is not very sought after so might hang around a while.

If you greased the hubs someone might give you £150 for it on facebppk or something as it would be a decent working bike that likely was £600 new.

The road bike maybe £50 good for commuting on and locking up without worrying too much.

Any idea where this bike hails from as the frame looks familiar? Some lad in USA on youtube yapping on about it being handmade in Wales?? And it's a keeper will use my old Specialized Rockhopper or the Marin Bear Valley to get all down and dirty.

Doubt it. Looks like a typical mid nineties taiwan import alloy frame stickered up by a shop or reseller. There was loads of people at it. They generally came with stickers announcing the groupset on them as the main selling point, decent brands didn't do this.

Doubt anyone would go to the effort of hand welding an alloy frame in wales and then stick LX on it.
