In the time honoured RB tradition of gratuitous threads with a bike + *insert random architectural, geological, geographical or zoological object here* theme.

This was taken this morning at the site of The Battle of Northampton 1460.
I just noticed that it was fought on this very day, July 10th, exactly 565 years ago.

From wikipedia
''It was a major battle of the Wars of the Roses. The opposing forces were an army led by nobles loyal to King Henry VI of the House of Lancaster, his Queen Margaret of Anjou and their six-year-old son Edward, Prince of Wales, on one side, and the army of Edward, Earl of March, and Warwick the Kingmaker on the other. The battle was the first in which artillery was used in England.''

The site is at Delapre Abbey, between the old house and the golf course. There is disagreement among historians exactly where the armies lined up at the start of the battle.

The photo shows an area south east of the Rookery that would have seen heavy fighting no matter which version is correct.

Any blood drenched soil near you? Let's see it.
