BoTM Bike of The Month timetable and suggestions

Has there been an American, British, European, rest of the world month? You know where all entries must come from a specific area. If not, it would give us 4 special months

In the old thread that got deleted there was a topic on “low spec” bikes? Like fire mountains, Bolinas ridge .etc
I think that would be a good theme.

At the risk of being 100% cynical check this out - a themed month entitled “underdog”

and what goes and wins ?

Perhaps there was a bit more clarity in the entries thread rather than the poll, as it does seem odd for some of those bikes to be classed as underdogs - based on cost or desirability at least.

Seems to have been a controversial theme.

There was some confusion regarding the above but John clarified that people who had won the competition before weren't allowed to enter, so 'underdog' referred to the owner, not the bike. Basically a normal month where past winners were prohibited from entering.

Apart from if we did that it would exclude every other brand for a month - it would end up being a total lottery as to which month you could enter your Trek or whatever - and there’d be no point entering a lower specced bike as it would get beaten anyway.

I’d also suggest if we did ever do this, we’d make sure GT was the very last possible brand to be scheduled

FWIW, Blue Collar month for lower cost range bikes only, family portrait for bikes of same brand, at least three being entered, owned from new sounds good too.
