Believe me, I tried but I ran out of stupid things to take with me....and straps
Joking aside, the weather on the tour was going to be wet and cold and there was nowhere to buy food.
I didn't want to use panniers because we had to push a lot and then I always get stuck with my legs.
Also the other bikes were also well packed...

This was my second mountain bike, used from a thrift shop 15 years ago. It’s a 1986 Peugeot Orient Express. I used it a lot but lately it’s been a wall hanger. I rode some gnarly stuff and also rode it in a 50k gravel race.

In March 2024 I tried to get out of my addiction to old MTBs, and I shouldn't have looked at Leboncoin: I saw a Trek not far from work, for 10€



beautiful fluorescent paint, I resist for 4 days, and then I give in, I contact the seller and the next day I leave with the bike

I'd like to enter my Wheeler, which is a "reimagination" of my very first mountainbike that I bought with my own hard earned money (mainly sucking up to gandma but also doing odd jobs like cutting grass...) at the age of 15 or so.
It came equipped with a 200GS originally. And I built it with the parts I lusted after back then but couldn't afford. I also put in quite the effort to make/adapt a custom dampener with steel springs for the Manitou forks. Because that was the kind of thing I was dreaming about back then.

Whilst I appreciate this was, once upon a time, a bike that absolutely belonged in this month's category, it's now far too fancy to be eligible, unfortunately.
