BFE replacement...Stanton Slackline

Re:

Yeah, it's not been a cheap upgrade but thankfully the sales took a bit of sting out of it. Hopefully when I get hope, there'll be a few parcels waiting for me.

It wasn't so much the wheel size that I wanted but the angles. It's one slack puppy.

Freudian slip. Hope goodies too! :D

Interesting you say about the angles, I thought it was basically the same. took me to this: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic ... switchback
Sounds like he's running it on 26 inch wheels!
I reckon I'd get on with bigger wheels as I have tallish legs, still I'm two steps behind you now with the Bfe rebuilt waiting for sunny days and careful riding! :D

Re:

Only a headset and seat clamp!

The Switchback is super slack at less than 66 degrees. That's in the same territory as my Rune. The Slackline wasn't too far from this because I put longer forks in it. The extra reach will be welcome though...being too small for me, my weight was too far over the back.

In reality if thy still did the Slackline in grey is have just bought a bigger frame. The grey in re flesh is lovely but unfortunately they stopped making the 853 version. I guess a little part of me just wanted the Switchback too!

That is slack isn't it, just been reminding myself on the Stanton site. The Bfe is slack mostly because of the Marzocchis too. Every angle goes with it as its really a Soul in design.
I wonder why it costs so much more than the 631 Slackline... I look forward to seeing it and your impressions. :)

I guess that it's just slacker because it's a newer design and slack head angles are in (I like them too).

I think the BFe is designed around 130mm forks really, or at least that seems to be the sweet spot. Have you updated your BFe thread on here (just being lazy)...

I agree, the bfe is really best at 130, though mines always been 150. No it's me being lazy/busy, It's ready to ride and photograph I just have not done it yet! later this month i'll get thread updated and start using it later on. It's almost as good as it's going to get now.
