Best way to get to York?

I thought for sure somebody was going to say "bike"

Looks like a flight to Manchester and then hopping on a train from the airport is going to be the easiest/cheapest option.

Not sure I have the courage to rent a car and try driving on the "wrong" side of the road

Another vote for the Manchester-York route. Have got the train home from Manchester Airport in the past and it is way easy.

I'm going along with the wife, who is meeting with people at York St. John University to talk about setting up a student exchange program. Other than that we have no plans or commitments, so we're definitely open to suggestions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.
