Best steel frame available today?

What I've never understood is how come custom steel frames can ever work out cheaper than mass produced ones.
£900 would get you a Dogsbolx custom built. That's a great machine, surely at that price it can't be beaten.

Best steel frame out there? Scapin if I had the money.

On a budget...I have a Sanderson which I am pretty happy with- nice detailing & neater welds than all the other GB designed/Far East made bikes I've seen at this price range.

I've got a Charge, wouldn't exactly call it heavy or dead!

Me too (Duster) and would agree that its neither heavy nor dead, although if others were using 120mm forks, then the handling would start to be messed up as it was designed around a 100mm fork.

I run mine with 100mm forks, a 6deg 90mm stem and flat bars and the handling is spot on. They are short though, which I guess means that if you've got a long body or arms, they won't suit you. I'm a short arse so it fits me fine.

Could be tempted by one of these, prefer the plain decals though without the white background. The blue frame looks good. Will have to get down to James's, get a catalogue and maybe put my name down!
