Best collection of bikes

How is a collection best described though?

Looking at the current collections on here, there are plenty that I would like to own (or at least have a ride on!).

Some that have caught my eye;

MadCowKev - all his bikes are 'riders'
Jez-I-dont-know-anymore - dream bikes
Jango and TinTin40 - brand commitment
Orange71 and Cchris2lou- broad cross section

Elev12k - all of the above

I like some of the collections I've seen on the board that represent the full quiver. Some folks have too many light steel frames (is there such a thing?) and not enough variety. The idea of having a Hot, and a Fat, and a Jet Stream, and a Blizzard, and a Brodie, and a blah blah blah...all built up with M900 and carbon Judys and Ringle junk in 12 different colors...they just hang on the wall too much and none of it seems to be suited for any use other than oggling. Where's the full suspension and the rigid and the stock trials and the single speed et al? Where's the dirt? Are they pretty and cool? Sure! Kind of sad if they are all in the same garage and sitting waiting for the next coat of wax and their turn with a cotton diaper, though. If you think that I'm refering to you , then I apologize if I'm going too far, but bikes should be ridden. If you own 10 bikes that competed in the same area of the market when they were new, then they can't all be getting the time on the trail they deserve, and that's just sort of sad. Very pretty. But still sad.

I may be bored at work but I'm not bored enough to start comparing such things.

The grass maybe greener on the other side of the the fence but this grass is mine, and I like it just fine.

Wasn't so much a 'who's stuff do you wish you had Q' but more who do you think builds bikes you like, could be Boaby with 50 Kleins or Jimmy with a heap thats been rebuilt, resprayed, emulsioned and left in a field.

Sorry if that sounded like I was being rude or cruel... it wasn't meant that way. I agree with utahdog that bikes are for riding and even though I'm sitting bored at work I would rather be thinking about riding the bikes I have than building up ones I don't.

I love seeing the pimpy builds on here... but I'd rather be out riding my bike.
