Best collection of bikes

A bike thas being used is better than a bike thats not of course...but

I personally would prefer to see a row of bikes on a wall than a row of paintings, or a row of dead animals heads, or a row of guns!

Come on a Klein Adroit on the wall or a nice print in a frame???

I like what I have .

and whilst I prefer ridings my bikes , I think it is great some people have the patience and determination to keep their beauties NOS .

Build to ride

I like seeing everyone elses builds, good insperation/ideas.
I do agree though personally with the average should be ridden. Yeah some are really rare now or very valuable but its a bit of a waste being perfect but not utlised as intended.
I have a few projects on the go but they will be built to be ridden, I build it thinking how cool it will be to ride. Most of my stuff is pretty ordinary by some standards but means something to me. Function first I tend to think, but then I dont have the cash for the wallhanger. Otherwise I probably would have bought the NOS Ned Overend epic with titanium lugs even though its too big.
I think each to their own, if you can have what you want, have it. The world would be pretty crap if we all thought the same, we'd all have the same bike anyway
Anyway if Kaiser is asking whose bikes on the forum I admire the most, it would be Kai's and ameybrooks. For the rareness, quality, love in the build and also due to the volume of Specialized content :D
Ride, ride ride, ride, ride just get out and ride, old, new, just ride when you can.

What about my little collection (see below) - or at least what about my collection when i build them all?!

See; I was with you until you got to the guns bit. :?

I'm kind'a on the way to the collection I want really. You can only ride one at a time and although I admire a lot of the collections on here, it's not really my bag. I've got a real nice steel framed bike that I don't have to be afraid to use and an alloy hardtail. I'd just like a more modern full sus steed now really. Oh and British stuff lights my fire more than the rest. 8)

the best collection is always your own collection,.. ;)

and sure,..bikes should be ridden like what has been mentioned in the previous posts,..but honestly,..i like the searching for parts aswell.
For me that is part of the fun.

More from me

Yeah your right defiant, its the hunting for parts and finding that shiny cool piece that you never knew you wanted.
I suppose we could be doing worse things with our lives.

A Klein Adroit on a wall with NOS bits draped all over it and some nice halogens to provide the mood...that would be modern art. BUT...a shed full of 10 Adroits draped in NOS bits and sitting in the dark waiting for their turn at polish...is a waste. (of course I've got boxes of SDG saddles and Altek levers, but hey! they are "spares"!)

There's a member with a Manitou FS on his cabinet at the office...that's pretty neat. If he has 9 more at home in the closet, then I shed a tear!

:D :D 8)
