I always say never again. So much pain and suffering in one place. There must be a law against it?

I should've been staying in but ..............

The 'showroom' nearly did for me. Eventually we found our way to the 'market place' where random tat threw itself in our path from all directions. Some of which found its way home.

But I was prepared. My silva amulet and cake of Kendal saw me through. Note interesting product name. Test tube holder? Home Sigmoidoscopy? In the kitchen section. Three hours down.

Anybody else been lately? Utterly dismal. Coventry. And ikea.

Thanks Paul. All your fault.

There was one consolation. I picked up a 110db personal attack alarm in the shape of a padlock for £3.50. When the U section is pulled off it sounds. Perfect for attaching to my bike and pegging inside the tent when camping/sleeping. Just don't tell anybody ok?

Well worth the hundred mile round trip and happy Mrs HM who thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Could've been the Swedish balls and sausage though.

In-laws on saturday

All part of my cunning plan.

Love the photo with compass and Kendal Mint cake! I fancy a competition to see how much expedition gear could be smuggled in and photographed 8)

My brother took my dad who is 78 to Ikea last weekend for some storage. My dad's thought on the experience? "Why do they all behave like sheep and walk around following arrows, most of the stuff is shit!" My brother thinks he might not go again.

The nearest I have had recently to this experience is Halfords, Taunton branch.

I had a packet of crisps and some Nairns Oat Biscuits as emergency rations.

Don't know where my nearest Ikea is. Probably Bournemouth. And that means crossing a border and going undercover and feral and everyfink.
