Best programme I've seen in ages in terms of the quality of music:

Primal Scream
Stone Roses
Happy Mondays
James
808 state
Mock Turtles

Madchester all over again!

Plus Blur, Shamen etc

1991 was the best music year I can remember since the punk era of 76 to about 79/80
Was lucky enough to live in Manchester at the time - Hacienda every Thursday! Watching the opening credits to this programme made me feel quite priviliged to have been there.

One thing this programme does bring back is how bad the miming was on TOTP - so blatant!!

And now Nirvana - most certainly NOT miming because their integrity made them refuse to do so a la Clash (THE best band ever!) - mayhem!

The fabulously talented and versatile Mr Dave Grohl on drums - far more talented than Kurt Cobain IMHO!

Sky+ all of it - was too busy gawping at R Kelly on Jools Holland. Well worth a gander if you missed it.
