Ok so I have my early 90's green/silver Raleigh Dyna-Tech Sentinel MTB coming to me on Saturday. The chap who has it has not ridden it much and whilst the cables and brake pads and Headset have been overhauled I want to pop in a new bottom bracket.
Does anyone know the following:
1. Currently I believe it has a cup/cone BB but I want to swap to a JIS square taper cartridge bottom bracket - Will this conversion work ? The cranks are squre taper so I know they are fine.
2. If the above is all good anyone know what size I will need for spindle length ? I presume the shell width is 68mm ?
If it helps the bike is on early Shimano LX with rapid fire shifters, the downtube states Reynolds 2055 and the paint scheme is silver and green.
