A quick post about some absolute bargain kit my other half got me.

My son swears by neoprene gloves for winter road riding, but he's a thin blooded type and really feels the cold. Being of hardier Highland stock I can happily ride in fingerless gloves for a lot of the winter.

Well, tonight was different, it has turned decidedly chilly here, so I thought I had better layer up. In addition I took a brand new pair of neoprene Oneill gloves, which I assume are usually used by surfers / windsurfers / kite boarders etc.

I now understand why my son rates them so highly, they were excellent and kept the chill off me for the whole two hours I was out.

Best of all, the price, £2 at the local charity shop.

She's good is my missus

I've got a 15+ year old pair of Zoots (i think) neoprene cycling gloves. They are damn good.

I worry what I'll do when they actually fall to bits?

My son kept his Specialized gloves going for a year with frequent applications of super glue.

I got him some Catelli gloves for Christmas last year in order to stop the frequent outbursts of Anglo Saxon.
