Bar ends on riser stem aesthetic - discuss

Bar ends must be fitted at the same angle as the stem, that's fine. Well, that's normally fine as i always had flat stems. What about with a stem that has a 15deg rise?

Should the bar ends still follow the line of the stem or sit shallower?

Should the rule be that the bar ends follow the line of the top tube?

(This topic has nothing to do with function, only form :) )

Bar ends should follow the line of the stem in my opinion.

 Unless you strap a tesco shopping basket to your back rack, then your L-bends can point straight up for comfort

Presumably in that circumstance i should also have the brake levers pointing up too?

It was you

Follow the stem angle for sure.
If the stems a high rise, then time to start shopping imo :D

Sorry i ride my bikes and recurrent football injuries are putting an end to my sky high saddle, flat stem days

Bar-ends should be at an angle that is comfortable, just so happens that's about the same as a flat stem

They should however never be fitted to risers...that's just all wrong.

A riser stem may be necessary, but it's not something which you would draw attention to IMO.

Bar ends in line with top tube is both functional and elegant, and would distract attention away from a riser stem.
