Looking for an estimation of when manufactured as well as value. There's some on ebay that look the same and they're meant to 1950's. These are made in Scotland. All the brackets etc are in perfect condition NOS and never fitted.
any ideas?

EDIT: I meant to put this in the 'how much..' section but I went wrong- sorry.

Re:

I had a direct account with both Bluemels and Bantel (formerly B & T) in the late 50's to late 60's. These look OK for this period.

Thanks for that Kieth.

The NOS ones I saw on ebay were up for £120 and they had rusty fittings!
Are these really worth that kind of money?

Re:

I think I sold them for £1 and £1.50.
I can see a potential value if they were named and logoed for a particular maker, but who knows?

I prefer Blumels myself, but these look very nice, I must say. Good condition retro guards like these seem to attracting good money lately, although trying to find a pair of green Sprint veloce guards in good nick is proving somehwat difficult.

Ah, never knew Bantel were called something different :) probably a good job as Hugh Porter - B&T sounds more like a cocktail LOL

Re:

Mudguards ...Some of the prices are madness . £100 for a strip of plastic that will go brittle if left out in the sun

Sold a pair of nos bantel at a jumble for a fiver  .Hugh Porter Brand model complete with fittings . seen blumels gold go for £60+ . pure madness .....unless you are the seller . and they say people are skint .

Pair of blumels full lenght alloy air light/weight circ 1950's nos in the shed :xmas-wink:

Re:

Thanks for the relies, most interesting.
Still not sure how to price them for sale on here. I'll probably auction them on eBay with a modest starting price.
I'd keep them but they would look wrong bolted onto a snot green Surly Cross Check. Or should I use them as the basis for the build of a classic blue racer...must resist
