Bank transfers instead of paypal?

I keep away from bank transfers now as the last two people (on here!) that have wanted to do a deal by this method have taken my details then vanished. Paranoid now so will not do them.

I can only do them as I'm not 18 yet so my PP was closed..

Not my eBay though.. Odd..

I've never been screwed over, It's immediate if you pay in cash too there bank, online, I think SOME banks charge for immediate transfer.

also this particular account is the most basic account you can get, with no credit card, overdraft, cheque book or direct debit.

Many banks have these basic accounts and so far using this one for internet purchases/sales.....I've never had a problem
They all do, although most won't advertise it much. It was made a requirement so that benefits could be paid electronically, meaning there's no minimum status to open one.

There's no issue at all giving out your bank details. Seems perverse to some but as said above that same info is on every cheque you've ever written, and on many debit cards.

i had a paypal account for about 4 years before turning 18 they didn't care so long as i was giving them their fat cut...then about a fortnight before my 18th birthday they closed it, caused me a load of hassle to get my balance out.

Paypal and their sister website ebay really are scum, its such a shame there is no real alternative to their shennanigans.

People buy houses through bank transfers!

Totally secure, and at the amounts we're dealing with here, totally free. All the sender needs is the recipients account number and sort code.

Never has a company created its own market more effectively than Paypal.

i regularly do it ,esp on trips with mates where we share fuel, tolls, campsites etc, very safe and CHEAP way of working
