Bank transfers instead of paypal?

Hi lads,
I have never done it & my mrs is TOOO suspicious

Whats the risks of passing over bank details to get funds instead of using PayPal?

Can I get burned??

It is only the same details as on the front of your bank card. We hand that around with no 2nd thought. Secure as anything can be.

Your sort code and account number are both on the front of your cheques aswell.

Tell your Mrs to stop worrying.

the very worst that can happen is some one can set up a direct debit, but with the dd guarantee you can cancel it and get a refund if you didn't set it up.

BACS is good. With my bank if i have problems i just write to them explaining the position and they refund me and take up the fight. End of problem.

I have a number of accounts and use 1 specifically for ebay/paypal/internet purchases/sales

if I know I need to pay for something I transfer cash from another account into it so there is always either just £1 in it or just the amount needed to purchase something plus the £1

then when I have money go into it..as soon as I know it's cleared I transfer the funds out except £1

also this particular account is the most basic account you can get, with no credit card, overdraft,cheque book or direct debit.

Many banks have these basic accounts and so far using this one for internet purchases/sales.....I've never had a problem
