Balance bikes

What about resale value? Quick scan on eBay and rothan's often go (well used ones too) for £70-80. Pretty good. No idea bout the spesh kids bikes..

I bought my lad his Specialised when he was 1! I paid £80 and its still going strong today and will be brought back out when his bro is old enough! He's now four (5 this year) and has as many bikes as i do

Yes, I know the resale on the rothan's is good but I may be able to get the hotwak for about £60 which is swaying my descision somewhat ...

Nice to see the specialized is 'upgradeable' 8)

An update is in order 8) my daughter is now the proud owner of :

Mods so far  :

• Took the seat of the post, chopped it down (from the top), redrilled it, refitted the seat. This allows the seat to go as low as shown but still keeps the min insertion line and the taper on the bottom of the post :D

• Refitted the grips so the 'S' was the right way up

• Checked the stem quill had been greased up - it had 8)

• Pulled off the 'Made in' and 'Conforms to' stickers :D

• Added some glittery flower stickers :D

• Added the pink dice :D

I didn't even need to align the tubes and tyre logos - they were done perfectly from the factory

Should I start a build thread ... ?

WD :D

Edited to add some better (i.e. non iphone) pictures

YES! Build thread
I really want a go, cant be just me
Maybe an adult balance bike should be making its way to my shed?

Well it was my boy's second birthday at the weekend, and he did indeed recieve a balance bike.

Budget restraints meant a BBSO (Balance BSO) made in china special. He loves it though which is all that matters.

Hahahahahahaha. My daughter is six and on her 4th bike now and all of them have had pink dice valve caps. Here is one from last year.

The boys balance bike has silver bullet valve caps on it and is a Zooom which I have to say I am impressed with from a quality perspective and he absolutely loves it like a 2 year old would.

Your front room looks like ours, only ours has more pink toys !

To be quite honest I wouldn’t have paid the rrp on either the specialized or the Isla – Its only because we got a very good discount she ended up with the hot walk … ;-) 8) I don’t think she really cares if its got a name on the head tube and flak jacket tyres on it etc …

Worryingly, I think a little of my OCD must have rubbed off on her – she wanted all the molding spikes pulling of the tyres …

She actually did really well for her 2nd – £100 hot walk and a £100 playhouse all for £97  and that price includes the pink dice valve caps ! 8)

Just hope we can search out deals as good for future Christmas and birthday presents … :?
