I was the lucky winner of what I thought was a fantastic condition Hope Ti front hub a couple of months ago, it was even listed on here and there was a fair bit of interest, but when it arrived it took me less than 10 seconds to see and feel it was cracked on the flanges, both sides and 3 large cracks in total. I got onto the seller straight away, I marked up with pencil to show the size of them. He said he was a wheelbuilder and reckoned I must be mistaken and was damaged in the post (impossible as he'd double Jiffy bagged it and the damage was from lateral pressure, not a drop) then changed hiss tune when I mentioned I'd been riding all my life and had an engineering background. Anyway, I got my cash back, he got his hub back and all was sorted, until I saw the item re-listed but he seems not to be selling it, just making a tit of himself. He knew the hub has knackered but has gone ahead and sold it to somebody else after me. Have a look for yourselves....

Hub in original listing looks cracked.
Which are the pictures of the alleged hub that wasn't his? As they have the same 'crack' in both listings. Also the same defect in the 'H' on the Hope logo.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not sure if he was trying to let people know that he thinks he's been done over but without going through the Ebay complaints channel.
The pics in the re-listed claim to be the hub that wasn't his but looking at them they both seem to be the same photos.
I'm annoyed I lost my phone last weekend or I would be able to show the cracks in the one I was sent. I've still got all the emails to and from incase anything dodgy came back through the complaints channel.

So what's the purpose of the relisted hub? I don't understand the reason!
The way I understand it,he seem to be claiming, that someone swaped his good hub for cracked.

Maybe that'd Karma biting him in the arse for selling again after it had already been pointed out to him it was f*cked

90% of the ones I've been sent have been cracked. A lot of the time you can't see they are cracked until you strip the anodising and polish them. The polish gets stuck in the crack and makes it visible.
