Are we sitting uncomfortably?
Then I'll begin.
Some time ago sinnerman gifted me this frame, and it has been waiting its turn to be fondled by me ever since....fondling time is upon it!
The frame is a '95 Wheeler built by Gally in Germany, and then rebadged and sold to Audi drivers of the time. I presume through their car dealerships, although not entirely sure.
Construction is from Titanal tubing "less of the tittering at the back" This method of tube construction was rolled and seem welded aluminium, which was then bonded into cast lugs.
"Would anyone like to guess what happened to the tubes after prolonged use?"
Yes, the tubes tended to split like... Well like, rolled and seem welded aluminium!
Gally went bust a few years later, which seems to have ended this kind of thing.
Wind on a few years to June '24.
Whilst talking to young Dan Chambers at York Rally, I suggested a car manufacturer line up on our show stand. The likes of Votec/Porsche, Mercedes/Amp etc.. to be showcased.
So here I am, laying decals and sourcing parts for the bike.
More to come, so stay seated until you hear the bell.
