Audi A6 4.2 TDI doesnt exist? Does it?

On the A1, near Grantham a 4.2 TDI in blue, 53 plate cruises past.

Look on the web - it shouldnt exist...

I can only find A8, Q7 etc etc...

The largest deisel they did back then was a 3.0

defo 53 plate A6 with 4.2 TDi on the back looked completely stock including motorway salt/ grime

can only find reference to the petrol

The A6 was never offered with a 4.2 TDi. Even the 2011 C7 A6s will not have that size diesel. (1 2.0L and 2 3.0L engines avail.) Are you sure it wasn't a FSi (direct port injection) badge?

who knows - theres all sorts of models that the UK never get - my favourite being a Mercedes w126 diesel

try to check the plate against the dvla records...it may be an iffy....
