Sorry been a hectic couple of days.... The Proflex did arrive yesterday. There was a slight hiccup of paying for it on the 9th of September been told it was sent and then it hadnt but it arrived in the end.

I personally had to beg for the parts that werent sent to me originally.

In the end I had to beg for a refund as I knew these parts would never materialise.

I eventually got payment out of Konamad but it was like getting blood out of a stone.

Rule No. 1: Dont p*ss off a moderator.

I wont be going anywhere his new venture. :?

just a quick note to advise konamad aka dave has emailed me today and indicated he will honour all outstanding deals.

If people have issues i have all his contact details.

I was'nt happy at all with the Orange E3 frame i bought from Konamad, while he did'nt exactly lie about it he was'nt forthcoming with information or provided direct answers to my questions, basicaly the frame was in a state and needed lots of time spend on it to get it decent enough to use, he advertised the frame as being ready to use (suppose that was a lie) when he should have known that no one on this site would have wanted to use it in the condition it was in (peeling laquer, rough stickers generaly tired looking), also frame was advertised with the BB which turned out to be totaly knackered, an issue with the cable guides and two small dents under the downtube he failed to mention, frame was supplied with a very rough wrong size Kalloy seatpin which i had to chase him for the shim  .

I gave him £150 for it though he tried to get more for postage  , even with the rarity value which he used as a selling tool i reconed it was worth £100 posted and felt ripped off.

its a shame to see someone fall out with someone on retrobike,
personally i have brought a stem from him which was described okay so no problems there.
as for the buying stuff and selling it for a profit........... well there are plently off people on here that do that !! even some moderators !! and as for paying over the odds for stuff, well if you are stupid enough to pay for it, then its your own fault.
one of my first buys on here was for a frame that was overpriced, i believed the seller on his price guide and paid the money it also had issues with chips and unmentioned filler but thats the way it goes ! .
it turns out that it wasnt worth the money i paid but hey.... i know for next time. :)

Think you miss the point rather.

Read what others have expereinced with this user - your stem may have been a sweet deal but others who are missing/waiting for parts aren't so happy.

Buying and selling is a part of the retro scene for certain people - realise a few people use the classifieds for this end. Konamad did take it to an extreme though, however if he had kept his nose clean and not f*cked people around and in that not caused myself and the other mods hassle there probably wouldn't have been a problem.
