I am representative to the 5 points which I have stated which are facts

Maybe part of the problem is that you don't know what facts are?

This bike is a Klein. Thats a fact.
You thinking its worth less because of the build is not a fact.

I'm enjoying your track record of thinking you know more than you do. Funny stuff!

uh hello we no that its a klein and uh hello if i think its worth less because of the build then i wont take it so that is a fact in itself is it not.

next you will be telling me itsa fact that it was made in the good old usa

thanks andy

I'm not sure what all of the fuss is about.

As my father always said, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. A penny is worth less than a penny unless it is a 1943 copper wheat penny. Then it's worth a bit more.

The seller has a BIN based on what he wants to get for the bike. If that is too much, anyone can bid only as much as they think it is worth and not a cent more. Can't see how that hurts anyone.

Frankly, I like the bike. I don't think I would pay that BIN price - but only because I don't like it enough to warrant it. A collector's item or otherwise, it would only matter to me how much I liked and wanted it.

And unless it was supposed to originally come with some truly rareor unusual parts (like blue Tioga/Showa suspension forks), couldn't give a crap about the build. Not hard to find period-correct Shimano parts of any level.

So I am at a loss why this seller's prices are getting under anyone's skin. Obviously there are people out there willing to spend quite a bit and are approaching his BIN price. Obviously it is worth what the seller is asking - or nearly so.

You beat me to it.:(
Maybe "a fools money.........

I say good luck. I will be watching till the end.

My perspective is I hope that he gets what he wants for it - whether his BIN price or something else, more or less.

The seller will be happy, the buyer will be happy and everyone wins.

i will throw my nightstorm adroit for 10.000 on ebay.com on christmas day :-)

The thread should be titled, "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Bike Snobs, (But Were Afraid To Ask)."

Classic!

I don't see 'Holy Grail' mentioned in the Ebay listing anywhere.

Am I blind? Perhaps someone else is blinded by their indignation.

I don't know what the fuss is about: the price is set by supply and demand. The supply of original "Storm"-frames is obviously very small. HLF und Dolomite pop up nearly every week but "Storm" less than five times a year. And those that pop up are often the same frames. Of course the missing rigid fork is a downside. But that is why this bike will probably only sell for 3.5K USD and not 5K USD.

Regardless of Klein-Bikes: My perception is that fans are prepared to pay a 100-200% premium for NOS or near-NOS over VGC parts, sometimes even more. And this frame obviously is very close to NOS.

By the way: I have a 20" 1993 Attitude Storm (original) with a repainted fork, Jonrock did a great job. If anyone wants to swap against 20/21" MC1 Adroit with rigid fork and original paint (preferably a fade colour), please PM me.
