Aspergers traits ?....my odd behavior

big cheese..........i was talking to a mother of a child who is in the Autism spectrum and she said '' she thinks we've all got it.........ie yes what is normal, who is normal, everything is just to a degree.

So we all fit somwhere of a slidding scale, so perhaps when someone is noticably different is it only because they are being viewed next to a group that is mostly of a different degree.

I walked past a place i know that is a drop in for mental health..............take 1 of those people and put them in a group of what ever and they are the odd one out.

Now they were off on a day trip....so there was a large group from the drop in on the street ready to get in a coach all laughing and joking and being 'normal' they could relax and just be themselves in that setting...............just as if you took a 'normal' personand put them on that coach they would feel odd and limited in how to act and communicate...............yes i like what you said......................if we didn't all bunch up and say we are this type or that, perhaps 'odd' people would seem less odd.

it's a hell of a spectrum, and we're all on it, to some degree...

But probably to a very small degree

If you suspect and want tested be aware that the testing is long and complex, they need access to all medical records, school records and family experience.

If only we could always find common ground instead of common fault or difference.......like 'hey you eat and shit too'.........i know we use the weather as an ice breaker in this country........but perhaps there should be an international ladder of introduction (might take a while) or was it just called politeness and having time for people a few years ago ?

I know there is a lot of primeval stuff that goes on in our brain when we meet another human that causes many prejudices etc but perhaps if we internationally agreed ( i know !) that conversations started with the weather, food, breathing, what sensations we are currently experiencing.....the more complicated differences wouldn't seem less after the common bond of food of liquid intake (cup of tea) CAKE :D

Yes

like a got a new client the other day, my supervisor, built it up, oh this person has quite bad mental health issues and comunication blah blah.....big build up......but when i met the person, i grabbed 2 teas, found out they worked for the same company as me once and bang they /we were chatting away for ages............we were lucky to find common ground quickly and normalness was ' created '

I certianly do not wish to offend any individual so it's just my own feeling

I've often wondered just how many actually have these issues or..how many have used this label to exscuse personal behaviour then say hey it wasn't me it was my...fill in the latest discovery label..even worse is those claiming they are blah with self diagnosis so as to say hey I have it only to be angered when you ask..so when was you professionally diagnosed...anger because most haven't because they know they are not.

I mean look around how many people blame crap parenting on "o he has blah blah blah" when some of it may just be they feed them full of sugar, pay them no attention, shove them infront of dvd's so they can carry on facebooking rather than spend time with the kids

I appreciate not everyone will agree it's just the more labels I see to justify bad behaviour..the more people I see claiming them as justification.
