Yep, patriotic, love the queen. Done my time in the Army to prove my patriotism and willingness to protect the monarchy and our way of life.

Surely, that should be " to protect your fellow britons", not "a bunch of Hun rejects" ?

I am patriotic. Im not a huge fan of the royals, dont dislike them. I quite like my country though, its a pretty good place to live.

amn right! It's a good place to live, but it could be better...

Some how, the monarchy has managed to survive in the most tolerant society in the world.

It does get bad but even then it still could be worse.

With regards to the monarchy, we are all too polite to say anything! (Which is probably a derivative of the monarchy haha).

I don't wish harm on the royals as they are no threat to myself , but I question their existence, as what they are really, is just an elite family with no real use other than being a wooden figurehead. If they existed to moderate certain other authorities in the country then they would have a use, but when we are being abused by authority, they keep quiet, so what use are they. Yeah I know they fly the flag for Britain in terms of trade, but isn't that more about drumming up business for the elite .

Patriotism, is a word I try to examine closely, I do not wish to be known as patriotic because of what the public patriots are, usually thick and racist if the media is to be observed, the football fan mentality and all that is primitive that goes with it.

I would like to be proud of my country, but history shows a lot of the world don't like us, because of what the elite have done in our name, for everyone always remembers the bad stuff.

I think patriotism is a thing our leaders wish to turn on and off as suits their need

But I am not sure what to think these days, as I also served queen and country in the past, but what is Britain these days ?
