Are you a hoarder?

Just watching 'The Hoarder Next Door' on channel 4 and am having some worries about my shed. I can't seem to find anything in it, and getting stuff out involves removing some or all of the 10 or so bikes in there.

Have I got a problem or is this just par for the course for an rb'er?

If it's a shed, yer fine.......it's when the crap starts to pile up in the hoose ye have to worry..........

No, need more tyres.

I am dealing with a life time of possessions right now, after we decided to move, (a couple of years ago!).

It is getting to the selling off part, and it is really hard to do.

I find myself staring at piles of letters belonging to my grandmother, etc. and wondering what I should do.

Current approach is to box those, and concentrate on things that take up space.

Sorting getting to the sentimental/non-sentimental stage now.

George Harrison said all things must pass.

A hoarder, yep am one of those of which I am trying to learn not to be as my place is too small for the amount of might need it in future type stuff. But of those that hoard, a lot of them are people that have lost everything at some point in their life, it is quite common and can manifest itself as a mental illness, so the person that had cat crap all over the place is obviously ill, and it is very easy to get that way when a person is ill, so they need help, not shooting.

The only thing I am not getting rid of is my scrap metal collections, I have about 2 pounds of silver scrap, which at some point I will refine and cast into pure silver ingots and have it assayed and I have a few kilos of copper of which I will do the same with at some point, the point being as paper money becomes increasingly worthless, precious metals is where it is at.

Anyone noticed the copper coinage we have is being replaced with copper coins one can pick up with a magnet, for sure the mint knows full well copper is set to rise in price to the point it might be worth more the monetary value and it is just not British to have something worth the monetary value.

But bike bits, yeah, they are getting hoarded, mind I had a purge a while back and gave some stuff away, which I am again searching for, all that because I am trying to get out of hoarding as this place being so small gets messy fast.

It was only when I started looking through my stuff out the shed to find some Sugino PX chainset bolts ( I'm holding onto the chainset in case I might need it, although probably never will) that I realised I've become a hoarder. I've gathered too much stuff "just in case".

I've got two sheds, the second of which is full of so many wheels that I had to move everything out to get at the power jet washer (20 wheels and only 4 unbuilt frames - that I won't have time to ride)!!

Help - how did it get to this?
