are my NOS Campag Thorr rims too valuable to 'just use'?

I'm not sure, but for respect of old bike parts figured I'd at least ask. I've got a NOS pair of 36° Thorrs bought ~ dozen years ago.

I'm more of an early 80s touring bike guy, and, for instance, wouldn't use a NOS Cyclone GT on my 98 Trek 930...

I've got a favourite old pet bike, by 1984 Trek 830 Frankenbike commuter I'm building new wheels for (that and powdercoat as 35th birthday present). My favourite and most used bike tho I have fancier - here's the setup: http://rjl.us/velo/trek830-1.htm

Anyway, are these rims rare enough now that I'd better pass them on to someone who 'needs' them for a 'period' restore?

To make matters worse, if I do use them, I'll lace onto my ~1982 NOS Avocet mod. 2 hubs!

Or maybe there are enough around yet (or nobody likes them!). Sure, in 25 more years I'll wonder what I was thinking when they go for $400/pair on 'f-bay' (future bay)...

Sorry for being nosey.... but do you really live on the Fox islands thats more remote than living at the ends of the earth !

Re:

OK - I'll use them.

As for location, I guess I need to tweak that here - I used to live in Fox, Alaska (north of Fairbanks) but moved south to Lake Superior. Still pretty far, not sure where the Fox Islands are... OK, after I typed it I could search it... I was much further north though on the road system!

As for the butcher bike not sure what comment reefers to!
