Are all rides suitable for Retros?

Hi Marc, based in Batley :)
Very kind offer of you thanks.

The build is simply a refurbishment of my Carrera Krakatoa 1989

I am a poor cyclist though.
Last offroad cycling was probably about 20 years ago. Then on/off road cycled (hardly any) on the same Carrera for following 20 years (hardly any in last 10 years) then this year, as I am approaching 40 decided to get fitter, so bought a lovelly new road bike.

So far this year since purchasing in September I have done 122 miles. This for me is good and a very good start towards better fitness (generally unfit and also excersize-induced asthma).
My free time is mostly taken up by my son/family, so most of my rides happen on lunch at work (we all have bikes) or early morning at weekends before the family is up :)
We have a caravan near Sutton Bank, so early morning rides before wife/son gets up are really nice out there, then jump back in bed for an hour when I get back :) :)

I will make some time at some point next year and take you up on your offer cheers! :)

Re:

Lunchtime rides - sounds like an excellent plan!

Top tip for you: follow Marc to the chip shop - by'eck that lad knows where to get quality batter and a bargain brew! :D

The lunchtime rides are great, generally about 30/35mins for a blast of about 6/7 miles at the moment, really fun to slot in around work. Have gone up to 50min rides at times too.

Chip shop sounds really really nice right now :)

Re:

Tell me about it - on a post-op liquid diet (not the fun type!) at the moment, reckon fish might be one of the first things I can start reintroducing though...

Can't wait! :D

Sorry about the post op and hope you are getting better quick.
Ill have a bite of fish in your honour this weekend :)

Yes, I believe we all got off and walked before 2001.

Judging from some retrobike meets, we still do

Only going by what the magazines would have you believe - and that you have to drive everywhere with your bike on the back or roof like some sort of hunting trophy

oh, and I've moved the date up to 2006. Before that MTBs never existed
