Archer Components D1x new gear setup

Re:

The idea that you can tune it to work with any derailleur and cassette combination is great, but as you say, it's a bit bulky.

If they could get the motor housing down to the sort of tiny size used on the SRAM and Shimano electronic derailleurs and maybe make the shifter smaller too, it would be really neat.

I thought this Rotor hydraulic system looked interesting too: http://road.cc/content/tech-news/244867 ... c-groupset. It would do away with the issue of shifting going "off" when cables get grotty, but without the need for batteries and motors.

came so close to buying. But at 3'' deep. it wouldn't look right on my Trimble E stay. But will hope they are a success and will get smaller. As a great system. Cable less system

How about the similar (ie: Ripped off by Archer?) X-Shifter?

I have one here in the workshop...looks nice and slim to me:

All the best,
