I'm a bit of a Rim hoarder and just my hands on a some NOS (pair) of RM400's are they better than RM14's which I also have

Looking at the Araya catalogue image below they would appear to be a better rim ...but are they any good ?

also whats the crack with Concave rims ? Araya seem to think its a selling point (see below catalogue image) to me they look like they're close to being knackers even before they've seen a spoke key surely flat surfaces offer better brake shoe contact !

Re:

Lovely rims, only topped by the 395 that came
Touch lighter with eylets.

You need to bed the pads in a bit and they work really nice (especially compared to the small odd angles 231s)

Campag followed suit with the concave pad area too.

Re:

I have some RM20 rims and these are the hardest of all my wheels to remove tyres on always need to use levers.

That's odd, I've never had any issues getting tyres on and off mine. What tyres do you have?

Currently got porcs on them

Wire bead Porcs are an ar$e on any rim.

RM400's are very light but I have wrecked a rear one before - flat spot. I found brakes a bit easier to set up on rm14s.
