Why not ?
I know from the bear valley (they were cleaned with an abrasive rubber block) that the nice flat matt finish lasts quite well with new rim friendly blocs and road use.
Let's be honest, there are a lot of garage queens or bikes done just for show on here - it offers a good way of making a scabby rim look very presentable
